Privacy Policy

Tono is designed to be local-first. This policy explains what the tono.love website and Tono software do — and, just as importantly, what they do not do.

Short version: Tono is intended to process your music on your own device. The public website does not require a Tono account and does not ask you to upload your music library.

1. Local processing

Tono is designed so that imported music, separated stems, backing tracks, transcriptions, instrument mappings, practice videos, and recordings can be processed and stored locally on your device. Tono does not require a Tono-operated cloud account for its core open-source workflow.

2. Music and media files

The tono.love website does not currently provide a hosted song-upload service. Tono does not intentionally collect or store your personal music files on Tono-operated servers as part of the core local workflow.

3. Optional third-party processing

If you configure Tono to use a third-party API, AI provider, music-analysis service, storage provider, or other external service, content or derived data may be transmitted directly to that provider as necessary to perform the feature you requested. That processing is governed by the third party's own terms and privacy policy. Tono should not silently enable remote processing.

4. Website delivery and security logs

The website may be served through infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare. Those providers may process standard technical request information — for example IP address, browser or user-agent information, request timestamps, security events, and similar network metadata — to deliver, protect, and operate the website.

5. Cookies, advertising, and tracking

Tono does not currently use advertising cookies, behavioral advertising, or cross-site tracking on tono.love. If analytics or other optional tracking is introduced later, this policy will be updated and any legally required consent mechanism will be added before that processing is enabled.

6. Recordings

Future packaged applications may allow you to record audio or video performances. Unless a feature clearly states otherwise, recordings are intended to remain on your device and are not automatically published or uploaded by Tono.

7. Children

Tono is not specifically directed to children, and the website does not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If future account-based services are introduced, age-related requirements will be documented separately.

8. Changes

If Tono later adds hosted accounts, cloud storage, uploads, analytics, or other remote services, this policy will be updated before those features materially change how personal information or user media is handled.
